COOKING / MEAL OPTIONS
We know your mothers told you that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and you should believe them--we do! So, we want you to enjoy a terrific breakfast to energize yourself for a full day of activities (or simply sleep off your breakfast!). Each reservation includes a hearty breakfast and a light snack in the late afternoon. Optionally, dinner can be provided for a modest extra charge.
Breakfast
Angel Valley Farm B&B has built its reputation on providing an outstanding, full breakfast. The B&B offers a traditional Costa Rican breakfast or more North American fare. Typical breakfast items include eggs right from our farm, fresh full-bodied milk literally drawn from a cow we know, and homemade bread to complement your main course. Main courses may include omelets, eggs any style, waffles, banana pancakes, cereals and bacon, sausage, potatoes and the traditional beans and rice with your main course. We also may make quiches and frittatas, and provide an assortment of fresh, locally-grown fruit. We also provide juices and fruit smoothes, and of course, the finest locally-grown and blended Costa Rican coffee that will keep you going all day. Breakfast will be one of the highlights of your day as you converse with our cook and other guests in our newly redesigned and equipped kitchen.
LunchThere are many choices for lunch in and around Angel Valley Farm and we are happy to provide suggestions from typical Costa Rican “diners,” (sodas) to seafood restaurants, fried chicken restaurants, and steakhouses, all within minutes from the B&B.
DinnerWe offer three dinner options for our guests. First, there are a wide variety of restaurants available in downtown San Ramon, just 4 short kilometers from the B&B. We've eaten at all of them so we'll give you an objective recommendation to suit your taste buds. There is even a good restaurant, called "Mi Rancho," within walking distance of the B&B offering typical Costa Rican dishes and Mexican food, at very reasonable prices. If you'd like to go into town, we can hire a taxi to pick you up and take you to the restaurant of your choice and back the B&B when you are finished with dinner or an evening out. If you have your own car, we'll point you in the right direction. Everyone is friendly and helpful here, so don't hesitate to ask the locals if you are looking for a specific restaurant.
Second, we have a separate refrigerator for those guests wishing to prepare their own meals using our fully-stocked kitchen. Guests can purchase fresh beef and chicken and a variety of seafood items including marlin and sea bass, along with locally-grown vegetables, to cook when you are ready to eat. Just let us know in advance so we reserve the kitchen and dining area for your use.
Finally, we offer a full dinner including a variety of main courses and side
dishes using only the freshest, locally-produced items for $10 a person,
minimum of two people. Soft drinks and other non-alcoholic beverages are
included with dinner. Beer and wine are extra and priced according to your
needs. Let us know by 10am the day you wish to have dinner so we can go to
the market and prepare a wonderfully casual and relaxing candlelight dinner.
More often than not, Andrew will join you for dinner-or leave you alone if
you choose.
Our refrigerator is available all day and night and stocked with a variety of soft drinks, juices, beer, wine and ingredients for mixed drinks. We charge $1 for soft drinks and $2 for beer, wine and mixed drinks.
